Christmas

Can you tell Christmas is this week? The malls are pack, families stressing about family dinners, everyone wrapping presents and anxiously waiting to open them, little ones counting down how many sleeps still Santa comes, no school for 2 weeks, and it’s just overall a CRAZY time of year. I’m not that excited about Christmas yet it hasn’t quiet hit me, I’m not sure why it’s always fun to celebrate Christmas, you get to see family, eat a lot, you get presents, drink hot chocolate and eggnog. I think Christmas has lost its true meaning, it’s become all about presents and the Christmas spirit but what about the born of the Christ, not to many people celebrate that anymore, and that’s the real meaning of Christmas. I understand not everyone believes I just think a lot of people are loosing track of the real meaning of Christmas.

I do wish my classmates a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

SCG SR HOCKEY

Yesterday (Tuesday 16th) I spend the day with the SR hockey team. It was a good day, kept you on your feet. I was taking pictures for the yearbook and I got a couple really good shots, I was really proud of. Once again this year our school hockey team is really good, had a rough start at the beginning but I believe it’s because we were up WAY to early! They lost there first game 2-1 to Saint-Famille (Mississauga), after they beat Jean-Vanier (Welland) and got disqualified with 5 minutes to go, in the bronze metal game against Pain Court (Chatham). Wont give you details about that, if you are really curious about knowing what happen talk to one of the hockey team players. Overall Lynx we were pretty proud of you guys! Good luck against the teachers Friday.

(Didn’t realize this was saved as a draft instead of posted, oupps!)

Snow!

EW! Do they really call that snow!? It’s more like slush, with a soft coat of snow on top. Last night I had to go shovel this elder ladies driveway, she’s had 3 bypass heart surgeries and she’s very old. I went over yesterday after school and it wasn’t even snow, it was slush; it was heavy and a pain in the butt to do. This guy I didn’t even know came over and helped me with the heavy stuff, and I didn’t ask him, he was nice. Well I guess I’m happy we’ll probably have a white Christmas but I don’t like snow, I don’t like winter. It’s cold and depressing. I love winter sports though like skiing, skating, watching hockey etc.. I hope we will have more snow then slush this winter.

Paris Hilton

Yesterday after school I was watching the finale to the show Paris Hilton my new BFF. Paris Hilton is known world wide and makes headline news almost daily from parties to hottest clubs to weekend getaways, and shopping sprees. She has her own CD, she has her own fashion line, and she’ll never need to work a day in her life.

She’s had many friends and faux-friends, now she is on MTV searching for her new BFF. There where 18 contestants going into this and only one will be Paris new BFF. Every week she tested there loyalty, friendship, also cheeks the background, talked to old friends, etc… As any other TV show there were a lot of surprises along the way. December second Paris Hilton finished her show, with her new BFF Brittney by her side. Brittney found out she was Paris best friend, by arriving at a masquerade party where Paris unmasked her new best friend and invited her in her life, there new life together.

When I first heard about this show I laughed so hard but every week I would watch it with my sister. It was just a matter of time before a show like this would come out, you have the bachelor and bachelorette, a shot a love, dating game shows, why not one to find your best friend. Personally I don’t think I would ever be able to go on a show like that for love or friendship or anything, I think some times in your life are only meant for you and your partner, or friends. I respect and feel bad for people that post there life on TV, it’s not I would want but that’s me.

Where do you do your Christmas shopping?

Well my mom is leaving today for Beijing for 5 days. Why you may ask? Well my aunt, grandma and my mom decided to do there Christmas shopping in Beijing this year. There are really excited to go, they’ve been planning this for a couple months now. Its really cheep there, to give you an idea one Canadian dollar is equal to 5.4 china Yuan Renminbi (Chinese money). At first I thought the whole going to china for my Christmas presents kind of weird but the more I think about it the more I find it kind of cool, ill be getting some stuff completely different then my friends.

1.00 CAD = 5.46607 CNY
Canada Dollars China Yuan Renminbi

I don’t like shopping in mall when it comes close to Christmas time, the lines are too long, the malls and stores are packed and everyone is rushing. It’s crazy, I love buying gifts and like receiving them but I think it’s a hassle.

High school Musical : Senior Year

I went to see high school musical 3 not to long ago and I was really impressed it was 1000 times better then I thought it would be. I’m a really big High School Musical fan, I love there movies, story lines and the music. The first one I was obsessed with it, I couldn’t watch enough of it until the second came out. I have to say the second wasn’t my less favourite of the three it wasn’t what I thought it would be but there is always one movie out of a series that you like the less. Then there is High School Musical 3: Senior Year, I was really scared I wouldn’t like it and I would be disappointed with it but on the contrary I loved it. It was like our story as seniors in high school, there are decisions to be made, prom to think about, confused with what there future will hold, being scared and all the motions and feelings seniors tend to have in there last year in high school. It was entertaining to watch, and it made me realize how real this year is, I was very touched by it and it made me think about life after high school.

As a senior I can relate to this because there is a lot of pressure about grades, what you’re going to do next year, and 100 questions about what will happen. Are you still going to have the same friendships with your friends? What’s going to happen with me and my boyfriend? You tend to ask yourself a lot of questions and worry about things that only time can answer them. I can say I’m very nervous about graduating high school, I like it here I found my way, I’m doing good and I found myself here, now I’m going to be sent off to College and start all over. I don’t want that, I don’t want to have to start over.

What are your thoughts about life after high school and your senior year?

Midterms

It’s that time of year again, when your half way threw the semester. Teachers start getting pressure from the board, and the kids start getting antsy about there grades. Worrying about how they did, are they doing good, are they going to be okay, is there parents going to yell, are the sports and after school being jeopardize. To be honestly it’s a scary time of the semester now and exams. The grade twelve’s must be stressing out because believe it or not these are the grades that will determine if they can get into college or not, university or not, these are the grades our post secondary schools will be looking at, the pressures on. On note will determine if your doing good or not, if you get mid 70’s and 80’s your doing good, anything lower then a 50 your failing, 50’s to mid 70’s there is room for improvement and if you get higher then a 80 you’re a brain your doing good, at lease that’s my way at looking at it. I think mid 70’s and up is good for me that’s my goal and my objectives but foe someone else that could be totally different. I wont post a blog on my notes because that’s no ones business but mine but wishing everyone the best of luck 

Reveilleton

Can you stay awake all night? Have you ever pulled and all nighter? Well SCG sports association twice a year organizes an all nighter at school. It’s a fun night you spend at school with your friends playing in the gym, playing guitar hero and video games of game systems, the computer lab is open and the stage with the musical instruments. It was a pretty good success I have to say we had over 60 people come and I think for the most part everyone had fun. The upsetting part was Counter strict didn’t have time to be installed on the computers but that was unfortunately the computer techs fault. The association had bought the game and a second game two just our tech didn’t install it, instead he unblocked facebook, myspace, youtube and game site so we at lease had that. Over all a good night, but I have to say by 730 we were all pretty tired and some got sick. Can’t wait for the next reveilleton I’m organizing in February I believe. I have to thank all the volunteer and my comity who did a lot of hard work that night and who where dead tired all weekend, Thank you, I appreciate it.

Cliques

High school cliques and cliques in general

I was watching another Cinderella story…dancing ever after again last night with a friend and there was this sentence in the movie that kind of struck me. It was something along the lines that teens tend to stick with there own cliques in high school. But what defines a clique? Why do we join a clique? Why do teens tend to stick to there clique? Why do high schools have so many different cliques?

I think a clique is defined by a group of people who share something in common, sports, religion, friends, hobbies, language and looks. Cliques can describe and define a person. At school a clique can be formed by a group of friends but not all groups of friends are cliques only the ones that purposely leaves someone out. Girl cliques are often times meaner and more hurtful toward other girls. I honestly think we tend to join a clique or stick to a certain clique so we don’t feel left out. No one wants to be a loner or an outcast so they join a clique to belong to something; it’s that feeling of belonging. High school can be considered like a shopping mall of different cliques, you have the jocks, the cheerleaders, the pretty girls, the musicians, the stoners, the nerds, the loners, the gamers etc… in most cases there is a clique for everyone. What I find interesting though is everywhere you go there are cliques, its not just high school, it’s stereotyped like that. On a last note though I got to say Garnier my high school is a cliqued school but the older we get we tend to let some cliques go and we are all just one. I’m a 12th grader but something all 12th graders have in common is the grade we are in, the school we go to, the languages we speak. We use to be separated in a lot of different cliques and still are, we have our own group of friends and that will never change, but we are all friends with one and other (for the most part some exceptions apply).

Cliques can be a topic that we can talk about and debate for a long time but what’s your take on high school cliques or just cliques in general?

Trick or Treat and Halloween Night!

How old do you have to be to go trick or treating? Well I’m 17 years old and I went trick or treating on Halloween 2008. Every year I saw okay this is my last year but then half way threw the night I get bored and annoyed and I cave in and go trick or treating. This year wasn’t any different I had 6 friends over and well we got bored our neighborhood was dead barley any kids came to the door. So half way threw the night the 3 girls decided we had enough went and put on our Halloween costumes and went door to door saying the famous catch phrase TRICK OR TREAT. At first I felt so old but after a couple house it felt normal and like I was a kid again. Funny story thought, one old lady closed her door in our faces, I think she was trying to tell us we were to old, ha-ha oupps! Oh well it was a fun hour, we only did my block but man it was fun. Well as you know I spent Halloween with some of my closest friends. It was an amazing night; we practically pulled an all nighter. The weird and funny thing was we didn’t do much, we watched a lot of movies, went to the park behind my house, the guys took a walk who knows where and the Natalie² we made food and had girl talk. We didn’t do much but we had so much fun. It was relax, chill and fun you can’t really compare it to anything. We were like kids again, no expectations just being ourselves.

The death of a saleman

In my English class the other day, something I read in a book got me so mad! We are reading the book called Death of a salesman and the father Willy is suicidal and he’s basically a mess. He has two sons Happy and Biff there two losers, but they use to be popular in high school. And the wife Linda is head over heals in love with her husband Willy but Willy treats her like shit. Biff and Willy use to be close but the mother is blaming Biff for his father who is now gone crazy and suicidal. Linda told Biff it was up to him to help his dad go back to his old self. Now that I’ve put you into context I’m going to tell you how I fell about that statement by the mom. I personally think that what she said was wrong on so many levels. No matter how you put it, it’s not up to the son to fix the dad. The dad from the seems of it has more problems then what we could of imagined. Under any circumstances the mother shouldn’t have blamed the kid. He left to try and figure out his life, he loves being in the country and out of the farm. Maybe he still hasn’t figured out his whole life in his 20’s but no one knows what there going to do for the rest of there life at that age.

really random thought

You know what I don’t seem to understand well ill tell you. I was doing my French homework and it was about alcohol and drugs and stuff, it had to do with our French book called Poison. Anyways the word alcohol in French is spelt alcool, I was looking at the spelling and it has the word COOL in it. Is it trying to send a message to teens telling them alcohol is cool? This is really random but it got me thinking, there trying to prevent underage drinking but if you look at the word it says cool. For most people as soon as they hear that something is cool there going to want to try it no? Teens are easily influenced especially this generation, we grew up already faster then a lot of people and we’re exposed to this a lot sooner then our parents where.

Second Chances / Forgiveness

Do you believe in second chances? Are second chances really worth it? Well personally considering we are all human and no ones perfect everyone should deserve a second chance. I don’t think you should forgive them right away or forget what they did to hurt you or betray your trust but you can’t stay mad at that person forever. Forgiveness is such a hard thing to do but for me I find it easier to forgive someone I barley know then the people in my life I love and care about the most. I believe there is something good in everyone no matter how messed up the situation seems, how bad they hurt you, how rude and angry they are against the world or flat out just trying to rebel against everything. No one should be judged on how they act or react to a situation because everyone has off days and do things they might regret later on. If you give up on them when they need you the most you’re basically telling them there not worth it, there worthless and your proving to them that what there doing is okay and no one cares. Everyone needs at lease one person that believes in them, no matter what they say. That’s my opinion I’m not entirely sure why I wrote this blog but that’s what was on my mind right now, so I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts.

Another Cinderella Story... Dancing ever after

Another Cinderella Story... Dancing ever after just came out not to long ago and it’s the latest version of the traditional Disney movie Cinderella. Off the top of my head I think this is the 4th version of Cinderella they’ve done. There was the original Cinderella (cartoon), A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, Enchanted with Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey and last but not lease Another Cinderella Story after with Selena Gomez and Andrew Seeley. Another Cinderella Story after is the same story line as every other Cinderella based story except this is about an aspiring dancer. Selena Gomez is a young girl who dreams of being a dancer but her evil step mom is still trying to live in the past, she is now a one hit wonder. Selena breaks the rules and goes to the masked ball and dances with the most popular guy on campus, a Hollywood celebrity. Almost at the strike of midnight our Hollywood celebrity reveals who he is but after she see who he is and hears the clock go she runs off and instead of loosing her shoe or cell phone she lose her iPod, and our prince charming is now searching for his princess all threw school. I really loved this movie, it was funny, cute love story (but so obvious what happens), and really good dancing.

Traditions

Every year my family takes a yearly vacation to Kitchener. Why Kitchener well one of my oldest friends lives there and my parents friends live there too. In October, Kitchener-Waterloo hosts Oktoberfest which is German party/festival/faire. What do you do at Oktoberfest well basically you drink a lot and party hard. We always go the last weekend of Oktoberfest because it’s always the weekend right after dad’s birthday. He loves going and I enjoy seeing my friend. This year Kitchener-Waterloo hosted there 40th Oktoberfest and it’s also considered Canada’s Greatest Bavarian Festival. I can’t wait for the day I’m old enough to go enjoy Oktoberfest with my parents.

Thanksgiving

This year, we have a lot to be thankful for in my family, my uncle Dan made an incredible recovery and he’s now at home! Can you believe it, after barley 3 weeks my uncles back at home; it’s amazing and just in time for my favorite holiday thanksgiving. I personally love thanksgiving because other then the traditional turkey dinner there is nothing really materialistic about it, its one day where you actually have to think and say thanks to god for everything you can imagine being thankful for. Your typical thanks are like thank you for my health, my family, having a roof over your head and food on the table but if you really take the time to dig deeper inside I’m sure you can find a lot of things you can be thankful for. For example you can be thankful for your friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, a talent or skill you have, your license to drive, I would tell you what I’m thankful for but this year its kind of personally I really thought it out.

The Three Musketeers

When I was a baby I grew up very closely with my two oldest friends Andreea and Evan. If you read my blog entitled October 12th, 2008 you’ve read that all 3 of us were born in the same year, just different months, I’m the oldest, Evans the middle man, and Andreea’s the baby of the group. When growing up I can’t remember a single memory without them, our parents were best friends, so as expected we became best friends and fast. Well it would have been just a fairy tale story to tell you but Andreea and Evan both moved away, Evan the farthest to British Colombia and Andreea not to far away in Kitchener. I would love to say we stayed best friends and close, but the truth is with distance we grew apart. With today’s technology Andreea and I still managed to stay good friends, but Evan on the other hand not so much, until recently, we’ve been texting quite a bit but its not the same as being in person. I miss my friends, you can never have new childhood friends or friends since birth, and they will always be mine and no matter what I’ll never forget them.

Friends will always be forever, and one day the three musketeers will meet up again!

October 12th, 2008

It’s a birthday day! Today I’m celebrating 2 birthdays, my dad’s and one of my oldest friends. My dad’s 30th birthday present was my friend Andreea. Andreea and I have been friends since forever, well Evan too but we won’t talk about him. I’m the oldest of the 3 musketeers because I was born first in June and Andreea well she’s the baby she was born last in October, Evan he has a month on her born in September, all in 1991. Well if you’re good in math you’ll know my friends now 17 and my dad he’s 47 but if you ask him he’s 27. It was a day of celebrations, and they will continue because on Friday I’m going to Kitchener to my friends Andreea’s with my family to celebrate her birthday, while our parents go out to Oktoberfest. Today’s not only a birthday celebration it’s also my 5 months with my boyfriend Joshawa. Time flies by, I honestly can’t believe it has been five months, it doesn’t seem that long. My friends are funny they think its been longer, sometimes when I think about it, it feels longer but then I think about it and it doesn’t seem like its been that long.

Jr boys volleyball!

Garnier hosted yet again another volleyball tournament, La coupe Lynx JR boys 2008. It was a short day compared to the SR boy’s tournament for the simple reason there was less teams. In the JR tournament there were 8 teams present, 4 French teams and 4 English teams. This year both our Garnier teams are stacked because both teams made it to the finals. Unfortunately they lost in the 3rd set against ACMT (L’Académie catholique Mère Theresa, Hamilton). It was still a nice CSDCCS final.

Working for an airline

My mom works for Air Canada, and working for an airline has its rewards. My mom is thinking about taking advantage of her benefits and flying to China for 5 days. When she told me this I thought who in the right mind who take advantages of her passes to fly to china, because there was so many other places I personally would rather go. Then she told me she’s thinking about flying there to go Christmas shopping to get mine and my sister’s presents, its way cheaper over there. I still think that’s weird, but hey my Christmas presents will be totally different from everyone else. My question to you is if you where working for an airline, where would you go, if you could travel anywhere?

SR Boys Volleyball

I’m a little late posting this blog but better late then never I guess. Last Friday October 3rd Garnier was hosting a SR guy’s volleyball tournament for La coupe Lynx. Ten Volleyball teams, 4 French teams, 6 English teams, one winner. After a long day the SR team finally made it to the finals, playing the one team we were kind of iffy about playing. Garnier wins the first set, and then wins the second set, Garnier wins the tournament, and we won our coupe lynx. Brad M was awarded the most useful player of the tournament, M.Martel extremely happy makes a good day.

The Lottery

I’ve been reading this same short story now for since 9th grade, I think the English department should talk about what grade reads what stories, so the students don’t have to read it year after year. The lottery is about a little town, who has a lottery every year but it’s the not the lottery we would expect, short story short at the end one person gets stoned as a human sacrifice, so the little town will get a good crop that year. I think the author of this short story was putting some people’s realities (in the time, maybe even now) on paper. I have to say though I always thought they sacrificed animals and stuff not humans. That’s my opinion I don’t see why you would kill someone but I guess if that’s in there beliefs we can’t judge because I’m sure someone doesn’t agree with our beliefs as Christians.

When I Grow Up!

When you’re a kid you have all these dreams of what you’re going to do and be when you grow up. For example, living on your own, getting married, having your own family, your dream house, your dream job… when you’re a kid you’re free to dream. When I was a kid I thought life was a fairytale, I thought there would be no problems and worries and everything was going to be like in the movies I watched. But the reality is your dreams will only be reached if you put in the effort and work to get them. It doesn’t matter who you where when you were a kid, if you where rich or poor, abused or loved, you get what you deserve and sometimes we don’t like what we get. I remember when I was little, my friends and I use to draw what our house would look like, and I use to play pretend teacher with my sister and friends because when I was older I was going to be a teacher. We use to play house and be moms with baby dolls as our kids, because we wanted to be just like our moms. I’m not saying that isn’t possible now , but what I am saying is we have to work and fallow our dreams for them to be realities and no one should be allowed to tell us other wise.

Money Money Money

If I won the lottery, I would first buy myself a car and a house. Then I think I would pay for college because we all know that’s going to cost a fortune. I’d also want to go travel see my family around the world, for thoughts who don’t know I have family in Mauritius, Reunion, Spain, Paris and Australia. I wouldn’t keep it all for me, I’d probably give my parents and sister some money for stuff they want and dreamed of doing but didn’t have the cash. I’d buy my boyfriend Josh his dirt bike because I know he misses it, or the car he wanted. I’d put some money aside for me in the future and give some to a charity for kids, sick kids, or the Ronald McDonald house. If ever this happened I wouldn’t let money control and take over my life. Money isn’t everything, it’s a good thing to have but when it comes down to it money doesn’t buy us happiness, being happy, doing something you love and being with people you love is enough for me.

Fake news paper article

Alcohol and its effect
Teen Drinking

What is your definition of alcohol? What is your perspective on alcohol? When you hear the term ‘alcohol’ what are some of the things that pop into your head? Do you think underage drinking? Do you ever think about the effects of alcohol? Or even drinking and driving? People associate alcohol in many different ways. The medical definition is ‘characterizes it by impaired control over drinking, preoccupation with drugs alcohol, use of alcohol despite adverse consequences and distortion’. The definition of alcohol according to the dictionary is ‘a colorless, volatile, pungent liquid, CHOH: it can be burned as fuel (10-15% of gasohol), is used in industry and medicine, and is the intoxicating element of whiskey, wine, beer, and other fermented or distilled liquors: classed as a depressant drug’.

Underage Drinking

Underage drinking has become part of our generation and is a general problem to our society. Youths are exposed to alcohol everywhere weather it’s in there homes, at a family parties or even teen parties. Youths are starting to drink at an age which could possibly lead them down dangerous paths later on in life. Why do adolescents drink? Some teens drink because its cool, some get peer pressured into it, some do it to fit in, some just to prove the law wrong and some do it at parties. A common drinking occasion for teens is if they had a bad week at school to calm down, have fun and relax they drink there problems, worries and sorrows away. Teen drinking is pretty common for both boys and girls. Teen boys show a higher rate of drinking problems because they drink more heavily. Statistics show that approximately in a year, 5000 youths under 21 die as a result of underage drinking. There are about 1900 deaths from car accidents while being under the influence. Also 1600 turn to homicide, 300 commit suicide, and still hundreds of other injuries such as falling, burns and drowning. Some other interesting statistics show that 3/4s of 12th graders have drank, but what’s scary is 2 out of 5 8th grade students have consumed alcohol.

Drinking and Driving

Drinking and driving is the number one teen killer, why is that? Teens don’t seem to understand the consequences to drinking and driving. Once they start feeling really good some might seem to think there invincible but the reality is taking the wheel not only puts them in danger puts everyone around them in danger as well. Teens with there G2’s are still suppose to have a zero percent alcohol in there system. Rebelling against the law has its consequences but once you loose control of yourself and pushed your limit with alcohol it can be a very dangerous thing .This isn’t just a problem for teens, a lot of adults drink and drive. A lot of people are killed because of a car accident most of the time results because of drinking and drinking.

Effects of alcohol

The effects of alcoholism are really serious. The primary effect of alcohol abuse could lead drinkers to consume excessive amounts of alcohol that could lead to threatening health problems. The secondary damage is caused by an inability to control one’s drinking. It also effects teens in different ways then adults. Alcoholism has a really bad negative consequence cost for the alcoholic, there friends and family. Alcoholics have in fact a very high suicide rate, with proven studies showing between 8-21% of alcoholics commit suicide. Alcohol influences your physical health and mental health. Alcoholics suffering physical health are prone to hurt there body’s physically. Some effects might be cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis, epilepsy, polyneuropathy, and alcoholic dementia, and heart disease, increase chance of cancer, nutritional deficiencies, sexual dysfunction, and death of many sources. Alcohol is not only poisonous for your body but also for your brain function and therefore psychological. Psychiatric disorder is common among alcoholics, especially anxiety and depression disorder, with as many as 25% of alcoholics presenting with severe psychiatric disturbances. Panic disorders can be developed in result of long term alcohol abuse. It can also worsen or occur as part of the alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Being drunk or hang over at work or during work hours can lead to a loss of employment, witch could lead to financial problems. Being drunk and drinking all the time can ruin families, relationships and friendships, this can lead towards divorces and domestic violence. Alcoholics with children can lead long lasting damage to the kid’s emotional growth even when they reach adulthood. Adolescents in both male and female puberty is a marked time in there life with hormonal changes, including increasing of the sex hormones, estrogen and testosterone. Teens drinking alcohol during the rapid growth of puberty and development may upset the critical hormonal balance necessary for normal development of organs, muscles and bones.

Sunday night .

When something tragic happens everyone’s in panic, running around, crying, holding each other, calling 9-1-1, helping the victim. Me I ended up trying to keep my uncles 9 year old son (Ben) away from the scene. Last night was supposed to be a great night, dinner at my grandparents with family and friends. Everything was going well until after dinner when my uncle Dan tried lighting up the bonfire but to everyone’s surprise the fire lit up on him, and he’s now burnt from the waist up. His nine year old son saw the whole thing right in from of his eyes. Ben ran to the bunkhouse where all the teens where hanging out, he comes in yelling and screaming with tears running down his face “dads on fire, dads on fire” at first I was like c’mon Ben stop being a drama queen but as we looked out the window we saw 3 bonfires. I immediately grab him and held him in my arms telling him its ok, everything’s going to be okay, Dan’s going to be ok, as the teens all ran down to the fire. What are you suppose to tell a nine year old who just saw there dad catch fire? Nothing. Nothing you can say chance what he saw. I finally managed to calm him down but now what?

I’m feeling so numb like I know the reality of last night and I know what happen but why aren’t I feeling anything? What happens next? Why did it happen? Is my uncle Dan going to be ok?

No blog will make the justice of last night, no one will understand what my family went threw last night and is going to go threw the next couple months. There’s so much I want to say but I can bring myself to say it. I still don’t want to believe last night actually happened. I guess I’m still in denial.
I ask you to keep my uncle and family in your prayers, because at this point its just a waiting game.

Advice for Sara David

Our English teacher M.David just had a baby girl. She’s now about a week old and she’s as cute as it gets. He asked us a couple questions on what we would say to his daughter. The questions asked what advice you would give to my daughter base on your life experiences. What have you learned through your life that my daughter should know? What are the secrets to a happy life? What should she definitely do?

Honestly Sara at this point I think I would just tell you to live your life to the fullest, never give up on dreams and hopes and stay out of trouble. I’ve learned a lot throughout my life seventeen years, something’s you learn the hard way and get hurt, but think about this if you never get hurt you’ll never learn or know what its like to feel that pain of hurting. I don’t think anyone could tell you this enough but be true to yourself don’t try and be someone your not because in the end you’re the one that going to feel that void that your not being true to yourself and your values. The secrets to a happy life, do things you love to do, excel in them, don’t be scared of people judgement and approval because not everyone is going to approve on everything you do. Do NOT be afraid to say no to things that scare you or things you don’t want to do (within reason). You should definitely travel, get involved in your school and community, play sports and do the arts and cultural stuff too. But for right now since your just a baby, let your parents sleep at night, we need our favourite English teacher to be awake when he teaches us.

The results are in!

September 17th the SCG cross country team went to Port Hope for there first track meet. The course wasn’t easy and no one knew what to expect, massive killer hill, uneven paths, completive athletes, injuries, pucking but what we can say is we all ran for ourselves not anyone else. It’s the first time in Garnier history that we actually have a SR boys running team. They had 6 guys running, Gab A-L, Brad M, Nick D, Jonathan C, Adrian M. I'm guessing running isn't as popular for SR girls because we were only 2 of us, Amélie A-L and myself but she’s in 11th grade. Now we know what to expect and we can only go up from here. I saw on some girls t-shirt, puke in September, kick butt in November and that’s exactly what we are going to do.

Results first meet:

Natalie: 141
Gab A-L: 261 (injury)
Brad M: 138
Jonathan C: 155
Nick D: 185
Adrian M: 137

Schedules!

What do you think about our new schedule? Personally I think our new schedule are very inconvenient, 25 bells during the day, different schedules, different lunches, and the way classes are done. I don’t like how I don’t see my friends during lunch because I have the odd lunch out. I’m so confused about how thing are done, the schedule don’t make scene to the orientation, our teachers, and even the secretaries are still really confused! I like the way things where done last year, why couldn’t they stay the same. That’s all I have to say on this subject, what’s yours?

Picture Day!

Today was Garnier’s picture day, there are a lot of unanswered questions I’m going to try and answer for all of you. The most popular question was when’s the retakes? Well Life Touch is going to come back to school October 29th, for anyone who would like to retake their pictures or didn’t take their pictures for the yearbook and/or student ID card. Next question what happens if I didn’t bring in my form with the money today? Well you have 2 options, your first option is to call Life Touch and try and make arrangements over the phone and if that doesn’t work your second option is to bring in your form and money on the 29th as I mentioned earlier, the retakes. Anyhow, everyone looked great today, hope you all smiled!

Senior Year!

This is our senior year at SCG and most of us if not all of us are pretty excited to get the year on the road so we can graduate. Most of us have grown up together since JK or SK and if not we all meet up in 7th grade here at SCG. Some friends have come and gone but most of us have stuck it out till the end. We just another typical high school with classes, test, exams, friends, sports, detentions, teachers we don't like, teachers we do like, people we cant stand but the one thing we have that's different is our french language. There are some disadvantages being in a small french school, our population is 535 students, since we've all grown up together everyone knows everything about everyone, the funny stuff, embarrassing stuff, gossip, and if something happens during the day guarantee you will hear about it by the end of the day. There are some advantages being in a french school, we're bilingual and our school board offers an extracurricular student comity called AESD that in May organizes a big activity event day for everyone in our 8 high schools, it also offers tournaments, leadership camps and a change for you to find your identity as a Franco Ontarian. So everyone SR year is on its way lets get the year going.
