Midterms

It’s that time of year again, when your half way threw the semester. Teachers start getting pressure from the board, and the kids start getting antsy about there grades. Worrying about how they did, are they doing good, are they going to be okay, is there parents going to yell, are the sports and after school being jeopardize. To be honestly it’s a scary time of the semester now and exams. The grade twelve’s must be stressing out because believe it or not these are the grades that will determine if they can get into college or not, university or not, these are the grades our post secondary schools will be looking at, the pressures on. On note will determine if your doing good or not, if you get mid 70’s and 80’s your doing good, anything lower then a 50 your failing, 50’s to mid 70’s there is room for improvement and if you get higher then a 80 you’re a brain your doing good, at lease that’s my way at looking at it. I think mid 70’s and up is good for me that’s my goal and my objectives but foe someone else that could be totally different. I wont post a blog on my notes because that’s no ones business but mine but wishing everyone the best of luck 

Reveilleton

Can you stay awake all night? Have you ever pulled and all nighter? Well SCG sports association twice a year organizes an all nighter at school. It’s a fun night you spend at school with your friends playing in the gym, playing guitar hero and video games of game systems, the computer lab is open and the stage with the musical instruments. It was a pretty good success I have to say we had over 60 people come and I think for the most part everyone had fun. The upsetting part was Counter strict didn’t have time to be installed on the computers but that was unfortunately the computer techs fault. The association had bought the game and a second game two just our tech didn’t install it, instead he unblocked facebook, myspace, youtube and game site so we at lease had that. Over all a good night, but I have to say by 730 we were all pretty tired and some got sick. Can’t wait for the next reveilleton I’m organizing in February I believe. I have to thank all the volunteer and my comity who did a lot of hard work that night and who where dead tired all weekend, Thank you, I appreciate it.

Cliques

High school cliques and cliques in general

I was watching another Cinderella story…dancing ever after again last night with a friend and there was this sentence in the movie that kind of struck me. It was something along the lines that teens tend to stick with there own cliques in high school. But what defines a clique? Why do we join a clique? Why do teens tend to stick to there clique? Why do high schools have so many different cliques?

I think a clique is defined by a group of people who share something in common, sports, religion, friends, hobbies, language and looks. Cliques can describe and define a person. At school a clique can be formed by a group of friends but not all groups of friends are cliques only the ones that purposely leaves someone out. Girl cliques are often times meaner and more hurtful toward other girls. I honestly think we tend to join a clique or stick to a certain clique so we don’t feel left out. No one wants to be a loner or an outcast so they join a clique to belong to something; it’s that feeling of belonging. High school can be considered like a shopping mall of different cliques, you have the jocks, the cheerleaders, the pretty girls, the musicians, the stoners, the nerds, the loners, the gamers etc… in most cases there is a clique for everyone. What I find interesting though is everywhere you go there are cliques, its not just high school, it’s stereotyped like that. On a last note though I got to say Garnier my high school is a cliqued school but the older we get we tend to let some cliques go and we are all just one. I’m a 12th grader but something all 12th graders have in common is the grade we are in, the school we go to, the languages we speak. We use to be separated in a lot of different cliques and still are, we have our own group of friends and that will never change, but we are all friends with one and other (for the most part some exceptions apply).

Cliques can be a topic that we can talk about and debate for a long time but what’s your take on high school cliques or just cliques in general?

Trick or Treat and Halloween Night!

How old do you have to be to go trick or treating? Well I’m 17 years old and I went trick or treating on Halloween 2008. Every year I saw okay this is my last year but then half way threw the night I get bored and annoyed and I cave in and go trick or treating. This year wasn’t any different I had 6 friends over and well we got bored our neighborhood was dead barley any kids came to the door. So half way threw the night the 3 girls decided we had enough went and put on our Halloween costumes and went door to door saying the famous catch phrase TRICK OR TREAT. At first I felt so old but after a couple house it felt normal and like I was a kid again. Funny story thought, one old lady closed her door in our faces, I think she was trying to tell us we were to old, ha-ha oupps! Oh well it was a fun hour, we only did my block but man it was fun. Well as you know I spent Halloween with some of my closest friends. It was an amazing night; we practically pulled an all nighter. The weird and funny thing was we didn’t do much, we watched a lot of movies, went to the park behind my house, the guys took a walk who knows where and the Natalie² we made food and had girl talk. We didn’t do much but we had so much fun. It was relax, chill and fun you can’t really compare it to anything. We were like kids again, no expectations just being ourselves.

The death of a saleman

In my English class the other day, something I read in a book got me so mad! We are reading the book called Death of a salesman and the father Willy is suicidal and he’s basically a mess. He has two sons Happy and Biff there two losers, but they use to be popular in high school. And the wife Linda is head over heals in love with her husband Willy but Willy treats her like shit. Biff and Willy use to be close but the mother is blaming Biff for his father who is now gone crazy and suicidal. Linda told Biff it was up to him to help his dad go back to his old self. Now that I’ve put you into context I’m going to tell you how I fell about that statement by the mom. I personally think that what she said was wrong on so many levels. No matter how you put it, it’s not up to the son to fix the dad. The dad from the seems of it has more problems then what we could of imagined. Under any circumstances the mother shouldn’t have blamed the kid. He left to try and figure out his life, he loves being in the country and out of the farm. Maybe he still hasn’t figured out his whole life in his 20’s but no one knows what there going to do for the rest of there life at that age.
